Kenya Travel Information

Before you come to Kenya, here is some essential travel information to know beforehand.

If you are a British National, you need to visa to enter Kenya. You can either get a visa from the airport at arrival or from the Kenya High Commission in London.

UK Emergency Travel documents (ETDs) are accepted for entry to Kenya, airside transit and exit from Kenya. ETDs used should have 6 month validity.

Before travel, travellers to Kenya need to have a Yellow Fever vaccination. Travellers are advised to drink bottled water during their Kenya holiday and to avoid ice and washed salads unless in a hotel or established restaurant. It is recommended also to not eat food from unlicensed vendors.

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office in the UK advises travellers to Kenya to avoid visiting places of low income in Nairobi and not to go to slum areas or townships due to the high crime levels.
